Summit on Industrial Collaboration Program under the DND Procurement
The Philippine International Trading Corporation (PITC), together with the Department of National Defense (DND), organized the first Summit on Industrial Collaboration Program under the DND Procurement held at Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
A MOA between the two agencies was ceremoniously signed last August 29 stipulating that DND is appointing and engaging the procurement services of PITC. DND and PITC will prioritize and expedite acquisition activities intended for the modernization of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). The Summit’s objective is to make sure that both agencies’ leaders and managers are equally knowledgeable about the goals and intents of the said MOA.
DND Secretary Delfin N. Lorenzana, Undersecretary Raymundo DV Elefante, and PITC President and CEO Dave M. Almarinez delivered their respective remarks in front of BAC and TWG members from the DND, AFP, and other defense and military attached offices. Vice President for Corporate Governance Atty. Ma. Victoria C. Magcase introduced the PITC Countertrade Program, Legal Basis, and Historical Perspectives. Countertrade Manager David A. Inocencio presented the Industrial Collaboration Program and addressed the questions and clarifications from the audience. DND Assistant Secretaries Jesus Rey R. Avilla and Teodoro T. Torralba III, and PITC ITSG Vice President Mario M. Leygo were also present in the Summit.
The Philippine International Trading Corporation is the sole implementing agency of the Countertrade Program. We are one with the DND in its great undertaking of pursuing the modernization program of our Armed Forces.
